*Please note that stone crab season is open from October 15th to May 1st of every year. During off season, we ship "re-freshed" stone crab claws. Re-freshed means we take our freshly frozen claws, and slow thaw them to replicate the perfect flavor & texture of fresh stone crab claws.

We had such great experiences with Key Largo Fisheries in the past (both in person and with online orders); however, this last shipment of 6 pounds of large claws was terribly disappointing. Most of the claws were just mediums.
I ordered the 3 pound large stone crabs and I couldn't crack the crabs not even with a hammer. I got about about seven cracked. I had another onother order coming the following day. I tried to cancel but to no avail. I had to throw away the entire two orders. They started to smell within three days. Since then I was in the hospital and today I called the office and explained my situation and the owner Bob was supposed to return my call to no avail. I have been a customer for decades of Tom Hill. I no longer can travel down to Key Largo due to my disability. I don't understand why the crabs were so thick. I guess that's it for me. Sure do miss Tom...
I have ordered in the past and most recently a week ago. The stone crabs are always fresh and full of flavor. They arrived on time with updates throughout the delivery process.
